We began in 2019, with cards being decorated by our sons daycare to bring a little joy to the residents at the facility our Ama was in. In years previous Christmas dinner with hosted with their families, for COVID they were not allowed to have family join for safety. Watching them struggle with the isolation, especially around the holidays really had a strong effect. 

In 2021 we were able to collect and deliver over 3300 cards to our Southern Alberta community, and are looking to grow that number each and every year. For some this may be the only holiday card they receive and it breaks our heart to think of anyone feeling alone during the Christmas season. We were able to drop cards in Lethbridge, Coaldale, Milk River, Warner, Raymond, Magrath, Claresholm, Fort Macleod, Taber and Picture Butte. 

A close and dear family member, who we call Ama, was always a strong advocate for giving back to your community, which is why we are so passionate about our card drive. She was an important role model to members of her community and us, so we hope to model our drive after her. We want to continue to grow the number of cards we collect and deliver because the more cards we deliver, the more people we can help bring joy to during the holiday season.
